Caption/Description

JAMAICA PLAIN, MASSACHUSETTS, 2006. After the death of his son, Carlos attended other soldiers’ funerals, then began to actively protest against the Iraq war. Carrying a poster bearing a photograph of his son in his coffin, he demonstrated at the White House, around the U.S. Congress, and in front of recruitment offices. “A lot of people came,” he says, “but people also got very angry.”
