Suicide Race The annual Omak Stampede continues to draw the ire of animal rights groups outraged about the danger to horses during the showcase Suicide Race. “Suicide Hill is a very forgiving hill,” said veterinarian and former Stampede board member Dr. Jim Gjesvold. “The danger is more to the 140-lb. man than the 1,400-lb. horse.”
