Fred Brophy owns the last boxing tent to tour Australia. His tent and his troupe of boxers have toured Australia for the past 75years, mainly in country towns of Queensland and South Australia where the boxers are challenged by locals in the boxing tent arena. Sadly, health and safety restrictions are putting pressure on the troupe making it much harder to contunue despite it's huge popularity. This essay documents the proceedings over two nights at the Birdsville Races, a small country town in South Western Queensland.
