Texas candidate for governor Kinky Friedman visits the polls to cast his vote among fans and voters at the Kerrville Court House in Kerrville, Texas, on Oct. 23, 2006. Friedman, often thought of as a Texas Legend and the most colorful of the candidates running for Texas governor in 2006, finished the race at 12% running as an independent.
