Texas candidate for governor Kinky Friedman and his dog, Brownie, spend time together at his family owned Echo Hill Ranch before returning to a hectic schedule of campaigning around Texas, in Kerrville, Texas on Oct. 20, 2006. Friedman, often thought of as a Texas Legend and the most colorful of the candidates running for Texas governor in 2006, finished the race at 12% running as an independent.
