They say home-schooled children can be more creative when they play,' says Linda, as her daughter Martha teaches herself how to roll backwards on a spare pipe. The family wastes nothing and makes use of what they find, rebuilding old automobiles and machinery, even reusing egg cartons and collecting coffee grinds for fertilizer. They joke about an instance when someone called asking, 'Is this the family that lives in the middle of the junk yard?'
