A newly born child sleeps in the yard of the hospital in Man. The civil war in the Ivory Coast started in 2002. The war has caused the lifes of several thousands civilians. There is a lack of the most basic medical treatement. The country is divided in two, the rebels (the New Forces) controlls the northern parts, and government army controlls the southern parts.There was a peace agreement in 2003, but the country is still divided in two, with UN and French peacekeepers at the green line. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) runs a hospital in the city of Man in the northern Ivory Coast. More than 200 000 people are depending on the hospital as their only source of healtcare and surgery.
