Caption/Description

Crying refugee girl who has just been told she was to be returned to Communist China. The girl had just escaped over the Communist border. Lee Ying overnight became a symbol of sorrow and her name was on many lips, but she probably never learned of her fame. By the time the public clamor reached its peak, she had been sent back behind the Bamboo Curtain.
