Vice-President Alben W. Barkley delayed the start of his honeymoon fifteen minutes in order to accommodate the scores of photographers covering his wedding. After emerging from St. John's Methodist Church in St. Louis with his bride, the former Mrs. Carleton Hadley, Barkley halted and flashed the V-for-victory sign until every one of the photographers had a shot.
