Dog Climbing Fence

This wry, blurry study of a dog attempting to cross a wire fence in the manner of a human was a journalistic sensation in l949. Taken with a box camera by Mrs. Elaine Wilsey, a war widow, it won a prize in Minneapolis Sunday Tribune snapshot contest. When Life ran it as their 'Picture of the Week,' it drew more letters than any other photograph that year.
