The lead picture, I believe, is the first picture to show the entire canal from ocean to ocean. Panama City and the Pacific Ocean are directly below with the Atlantic Ocean at the top. The center picture shows maintenance on a lock gate. The closing photo shows a ship passing along the illuminated banks of Gaillard Cut-a prime obstacle in building the canal.
