Caption/Description
Ponies run wild on the Virginia island of Assoteague all year and each summer members of the Chincoteague (VA) Fire Company round them up and swim them across the channel to Chincoteague where they are penned until the ponies are auctioned off. Ponies that are not sold swim back to the island for another year of freedom.
