Thirty-eight men were killed in a coal mine explosion. The women gathered at the church to learn the fate of their men. The man at the rear of the crowd with the clipboard has come from the temporary morgue. The family must now go to the morgue in the school gym and claim the bodies, then endure the funeral and the long walk to the burial site.
