Joe Ozbolt had finished a day's work in the mine and his face showed it. Jim Thompson stepped into the main 'gangway' of the mine to begin the night shift. In the hoist room the world of the miners comes into focus with a bulletin board full of 'fatalgrams' describing the grim stories of workers killed in other mines. One of the miners clutches his lunch bucket.
