A recent outbreak of rats in Senegal prompted USAID to institute an incentive program whereby ten rat tails will bring 1 kg. rice. Tools of the trade are fishnet to cover burrows, container to pour water into burrows, and stick to club or beat rats as they try to escape. The program in Kassak Nort is working, 25,000 rat tails in the past three months.
