Caption/Description
Cradled in his mother's arms, a baby born in Moscow hospital starts to nurse. At feeding time a special cart delivers the infants, wrapped and tagged, to their mothers. Soviet maternity wards observe strict rules of hygiene and allow no visitors, not even fathers. To encourage large families the government guarantees liberal leave policies for working women.
