Malay troops rush Communist guerrillas in actual combat near the Thailand-Malaysia border. Ambush attacks and land mines take a daily toll with many amputees in field hospitals. Democratic Malaysia has been fighting off these Communist guerrillas since the end of WWII, but fighting has gotten worse in recent years.
