Smoke, terror, screams and then the awful silence. 164 persons died in the fire that ripped through Beverly Hills Supper Club. The fire was only the beginning of a tragedy that included the agony of discovering lost relatives and friends, and the legal battles that could drag on for years. It was a time of fear and a time of heroism.
