Photographer says, 'John 'Duke' Wayne had recently returned from open-heart surgery, and acknowledged a flotilla of fans from the backyard of his Newport Beach Bayfront home. While all other press remained on boats in the harbor, I talked my way through his house and into the back yard to get this exclusive photo.'
