First Lady Rosalynn Carter, soft-spoken and pretty, proved to be a tireless campaigner as she filled in for Jimmy on numerous occasions. Speaking at a fund raiser (Democratic) in Richmond, President Carter's immense presence over her shoulder did not shadow her ability to handle questions and drive home points that she and her husband believed in.
