The Closet--On busy nights, scores of junkies visit the apartment where Christopher and his sister live in the shadow of the capitol. The come in and shoot up just outside their bedroom door, or sometimes in the bedroom since that is where the heater is. Christopher, 11, prefers the comfort and quietness of his closet to his bed. 'It's safe here,' he says.
