To get this picture, Mr. Brunk had to run into the canyon, ' up, grab the shot and get away,' before being cut off by the 43,000 acre blaze. Even then, if his car, on a nearby hill, hadn't been turned around for a quick start, it is unlikely he would have escaped. Blaze was fanned by 70-mile winds.
