Mr. Miller, on his day off, drove to White Bear Lake to witness St. Paul's unique ice fishing contest. Arriving shortly before the contest ended, he realized the huge pie-like pattern would be more effective if photographed from the air. Miller found a plane and fisherman-pilot, talked him into a quick flight above the crowd.
