Looking for something different in a track meet picture, Mr. Scharfman did not try to shoot beginning of this race in Madison Square Garden, but took position at first turn. His intuition paid off when Browning Ross, Villanova star, took a bad spill. The race had to be started over. Scharfman was the only photographer to get this picture.
