Joseph Gondola, 15, grimaces in pain as a doctor attempts to release the youth's finger impaled on iron picket. Joseph, who slipped on icy sidewalk, grabbed fence spike to break his fall. He was released forty-five minutes later when spike was cut with a metal saw. Picture was taken eight minutes after tip was received.
