Nepalese protesters and armed police clash during riots that killed 3 people today and injured many during a day long imposed curfew. Nepal's opposition groups are calling for a restoration of democracy from King Gyanedra's royalist regime and vow to continue their protests until he steps down. Violent clashes became a regular occurance between pro-democracy groups and the government's forces. King Gyanedra's royalist government ordered a curfew, cutting phone lines and internet and arresting anti-government activists while a ban on protests continues angering Human Rights organizations. Nepali men chant as water cannons are shot at them during a demonstration protesting the rule of King Gyanedra in Kathmandu January 24, 2006. (photo by Paula Bronstein /Getty Images)
