Lights attached to the rotors of the helicopter formed a pattern as the craft rose and descended a short distance from the ground. The caption in the photojournalism book says that the airplane is in experimental use. The first helicopter to be equipped with navigational lights makes an abstract pattern as it hovers above the ground.
